The patented UMC Fence Lokk Machine can produce Fixed Lokk or Stay Lokk type fence knots on one Machine with minimal downtime when changing between fence types.

The FLM machine produces fabricated wire fence in various roll sizes and knot types used for numerous applications, producing fencing for livestock and conservation right through to security, and exclusion applications.

There are two machine sizes available; The 6’ foot (1829mm) wide machine can be mechanically or electrically controlled and the 10′ foot (3048mm) wide machine is fully electrically controlled.

The FLM machine can be delivered with one set of tooling, for customers who only require one type of fence, or a second set of tooling can be purchased that will allow the machine to produce both types of fence knot.

Automatic Cut & Roll Removal

The UMC FLM Machine has the option to automatically cut and remove the roll at the desired length, then start fence production again without operator involvement.

The roll clamp closes on the roll while the mechanism cuts and holds the end of the fence on the machine side. The roll then moves to the tie off area and the holding mechanism reloads the fence onto the mandrel and production starts again.

Safety & Controls

The UMC FLM Machine has a high level of machine safety. There is integrated PLC Machine safety with light curtains, laser scanner and magnetic RFDI guard sensing.

There are front and rear HMI interfaces, with hand wheel adjustments for slow speed operation and individual axis control over the knot tying motion.

Flexible Roll Size

The flexibility of the UMC FLM Machine allows for very large rolls to be produced. Maximum roll diameter 1,300mm (51.2”) Minimum roll diameter 300mm (11.8”) Maximum roll weight 1,500kg (3,300lbs)

The manufacturer can produce a roll of fence with 152mm (6”) stay wire space, up to 500m (1,640’ft) in length. In addition, a special kit can be provided for manufacturers who are wanting to make very short length rolls.

Dual End Wire Feed

Dual end wire feed systems allow for production of two fences at the same time.

Fast Change Overs

Automated Crimp Drum allows for rapid changeovers when specification changes are required.

Roll Shuttle Design

Roll shuttle allows for a controlled motion to layer the fence before the windup. This prevents the knots or line wires from ‘stacking’ on top of each other, keeping the roll diameter compact.

Continuous Production

Finished rolls are automatically removed to the tie-off and pickup zone, allowing for continuous production. When the finished roll ends are secured, the roll clamp re-sets to the windup area.

Statistics & Telemetry

Reporting module provides for Machine displayed operational status including faults, run hours, mechanical history. Mobile device compatible with remote distribution of reports.
